The Centre for Intelligent Product Development (CiPD) at IIIT Delhi, in collaboration with the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (IEEE CASS), recently organized a hands-on IoT workshop on July 7-9, 2024 that brought together over 65 students eager to explore the fundamentals of Internet of Things (IoT) development. 

The session provided a deep dive into NodeMCU, sensor integration, cloud connectivity, and real-time automation, equipping participants with the knowledge to create industry-relevant IoT solutions. Through practical applications, students worked on impactful projects such as temperature monitoring systems, gas leakage alert mechanisms, and real-time data tracking, gaining essential hands-on experience in hardware-software integration.

The workshop emphasized bridging the gap between theoretical concepts and real-world implementation, ensuring students understood the complexities of designing, developing, and troubleshooting IoT-based systems. By engaging in this interactive learning experience, participants strengthened their technical skills and got firsthand exposure to industry-standard practices in IoT development. This initiative aligns with CiPD’s commitment to fostering innovation, research-driven product development, and interdisciplinary collaboration, enabling students to move from academic learning to practical, market-ready solutions.
